If you have subscribed to our mailing list and have had a chat with me recently, you’ll know that I have been exploring idea of how to better support you, our students!
One such idea is to create a closed Facebook group that is exclusively for students and tutors.
The idea behind it is to give people a space where they can receive feedback, get workshop refreshers and simply make it easier to chat to your workshop buddies and tutors!
My hope for such a group would be that students have a safe space to gain more confidence and motivation as well as encouragement to continue their development.
So far the feedback I’ve had is very good, but what do you think?! Would you benefit from such a group?
Also! We announced our second workshop at Firestorm Games yesterday, I’ll be heading down with oils and pigments in hand for a weekend of weathering! Workshop to be announced in the coming months are…. intro airbrush, core skills, basing, water effects and we might have some more big names heading over!

Officially announcing our first one day workshop!
Hello Everyone! I hope your enjoyed Christmas and new year
With the end of the year just passed The Weekend Workshop has spent the last month or so reviewing the feedback we have been given throughout the year and considering how we can grow TWW and our community.
This year we are going to be working hard to make workshops more accessible, cheaper to attend and help people be better prepared for attending them.
How are we going to manage this?
First of all, as you might have already seen, we are going to start advertising workshops at different ability levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Masterclass. This will make it easier for people to identify what skills they will need for the workshop so they can pick a workshop that is right for them. Also, we shall be emailing out support packs before workshops for students who feel the workshop might be a little above their level.
Also, we are going to start linking more workshop together. The idea being if you attend one workshop it will give you the skills and knowledge to attend a more complex or detailed workshop in the future. This will allow students to progress with us throughout the year.
Yes, you heard me right! We are working hard to make workshops cheaper to attend overall. We are searching high and low to find new venues so people will travel less, we will also be running one day workshops as well as our two day workshops to give students more affordable options.
On top of that we will also be rewarding frequent attendees with discounts, if you attend a workshop that has been linked to a previous workshop you have attended, you shall receive a discount on that linked workshop.
Finally I would like to thank everyone for the support we have received, The Weekend Workshop continues to grow stronger every month and so much of that is down to you wonderful people! So thank you!
